    I don’t begrudge anyone racing by the rules, making the field, and
    collecting some money.  More power to them!

    The payout at Bristol for last place was in the neighborhood of
    $65,000.

  2. It seems to be profitable to  do this, what is the entry fee though?
    or have they in this day and age dropped that?

    I didn’t pick up that detail.

    Payouts vary according to programs that teams and drivers participate
    in.  That’s what a lot of those little decals are all about on the
    front quarter-panels.
