Predictifying ain’t easy to begin with for me and after looking at the
starting order, I must confess that I am totally bumfoozled…. but here
goes….
The top five Chase drivers will be (in no particular order):
Stewart
Gordon
Busch, Kurt
Bowyer
Kenseth
Bonus: Villenueve will be the top Toy to everyone’s amazement. (MVP only)
OK, the fine fools^h^h^h^holks at ESPN/ABC have left the Texas/
Oklahoma game with just 4 minutes left & the Sooners leading by
a touchdown to show something else, so lets do the RPG
The Win: You have to figure with the cars being more the same than
ever, that the race will come down to who’s the better plate driver
(actually, it will probably come down to luck, but aside from that).
The best plate drivers are Earnhardt and Stewart. I’m going to
pick Stewart to win.
1) with the old car, Chevies dominated the plate races. With the
new car, things should be a lot more equal. Hah. Chevies take
at least 9 of the top 10 positions.
2) The go or go home guys dominated qualifying. They’ll also
dominate the "failed on race day" list. Not more than 2 go or
go home cars will finish in the T20.
3) Earnhardt will be the top non-chaser.
4) Blaney finishes ahead of Shrader and returns to the T35.
5) Gordon finishes ahead of Johnson and returns to first in
the chase points.

This is going to be a little harder than usual, but let’s give it a
shot.
Winner: Tony Stewart. I’d love to go for Mikey or DEJr, but Smoke
showed a lot of muscle in practice.
1. Mikey gets a top 5. He does know how to draft and how to run the
restricter plates races. He should be able to stay up top today.
2. 5 Toyotas in the top 15.
3. DEJr top 10. Jr didn’t show a lot in practice or qualifying, but
he should be able to stay near the front of the draft.
4. Jacques Villeneuve qualified well, but he will have trouble
finding a drafting partner. He finishes 30th or worse.
5. Robby has been pretty quiet since Montreal, but that changes this
week. The big one – 10 or more cars – comes in the third quarter of
the race and Robby causes it.
Tom S.
Winner: Ryan Newman
1) winner will be a Dodge
2) top Toy between 6 and 10
3) No more than two Fords top 10
4) More Dodges than Chevies top 10
5) Of the six Toys in the race, 50% or more DNF
Bonus: after the race Jacques Villeneuve announces a Quebecois-Cajun
alliance which has spent the race infiltrating Talladega and refuses to give
the track back unless Junior does a commercial endorsing poutine.

I’m behind this morning.
Five numbers from Mr. Random, to be interpreted
later. I asked him to pick five qualifiers and
the order in which they would stand with respect
to each other at the end of the race:
29
36
20
14
19
So the 29th qualifier will finish ahead of the
other four, the 36th ahead of the other three,
the 20th ahead of the other two, and the
14th ahead of the 19th.
Mr. Random thinks the 10th qualifier will
win the race.
Later!
Marty

Before criticizing someone, walk a mile in their shoes.
Then, when you do criticize them,
you’ll be a mile away… and have their shoes…
The top five Chase drivers will be (in no particular order):
Stewart – +1
Gordon – +1
Busch, Kurt – +1
Bowyer – 0
Kenseth – 0

close… oh so close…. Blaney was the top Toy followed by Villeneuve.
Villeneuve acquitted himself well staying out of trouble and finishing on
the lead lap.
You couldn’t hear people booing, you didn’t see anything being thrown
at the car. Is it certain that the #24 won, and not someone else…

I just went to the Homestead-Miami Speedway web page again to make
sure there was no RV camping information. This time I found the RV
camping information so please disregard my previous posting on this
subject.
……..with m&ms not sponsoring the 38 in 2008, anybody know if they will
sponsor anybody at all in 2008…or are they getting out of nascar all
together?
