SPARTA KY. (July16, 2001)- Surviving the attrition this weekend was the key
to the #55 Powers Motorsports best finish of the 2001 season. Starting on their
time from the 31st spot, driver Tom Powers was able to stay out of harms way
and bring the 5 Star Lighting and Recreation Dodge home to a 20th place finish.
A new paint color was unveiled this weekend with quite a different look from
what we had in the past. "We had a quite a bit of body work to do this past
week to make sure we got through tech" said owner/driver Tom Powers." I am glad
we kept it in one piece after all the cautions we had tonight" The new color is
a solid turquoise as compared to the blue/black paint scheme that has been run
in the past.
The # 55 Powers Motorsports DODGE continues to be in the top 30 of owner
points. " Sponsorship is the key to us finishing out the season." said Richard
Weber, Director of Team Marketing and Promotions, "So far this season the team
has made 11 of the 12 races it was entered in, all without the help of
corporate sponsorship."
The 14th race of the 24-race season will be in Loudon NH on July 21st with
the Winston Cup event the following day.
Any interested parties should contact Richard Weber at Racing Consultants.
