Cal Ripken’s retirement at age 41 has me asking the question; why don’t
the over 40 drivers in NASCAR retire and make room for new blood. Oh,
silly me, it all about the money…

You could probably do the same in your job. Did you quit at 40?

It’s good work, if you can get it.
It’s working with people you’ve known all your adult life.
If you’re competitive, why not continue to compete? Cal isn’t
stepping down because he loves the younger players.

Well.. if it was a foot race instead of a car race maybe they WOULD retire.
hmm what an idea. that would also solve most of the safety issues

Now this is just stupid or a troll. Doug, I started back racing when I
turned 40 after being out of it for 20 years and I gotta tell you pal, I was
always in the top 5 or leading both in the points race and the individual
events. There is such a thing as experience. I guarantee you those guys I
raced with didn’t think I was too old when they were trying to pass me or
keep me from passing them <VBG>
