>There is no rule that says that if you change a engine after qualifing. The
>only way you go to the rear is if you crash your car in happy hour or
>somthing. Only if you us ea back up car. Not anything else.

This is true in WC-you also go to the back if you change drivers. But in the
Busch and the Truck Series you go to the back of the grid if you change engines
after qualifying without permission from NASCAR and the only way to get
permission is to prove that your engine is "broken"
Somebody let me know if I'm crazy, but isn't there already a rule that
you go to the back if you swap engines? I thought that there was, but
since everybody does it anyway, the pole winner would go to 43rd, then
the 2nd fastest goes to 43rd, pushing the pole winner to 42nd, etc., and
the net result is the same.
They definitely should ban qualifying engines, IMO.

- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -
Almond & Will wrote:

> I would suggest using the same motor for race and qualifying. If you change
> a motor, you go to the rear to start. Provisionals would be used to stop
> everyone from swapping an engine to get in the field. Provisionals should be
> awarded by 10% of the races the team made. 4 for a team making all the
> races. Have to make 10 races to get your 1st.
