Hello all,
I’m going to be attending the Coca-Cola 600 and it’s going to be my first
race in person. Been a fan of the sport for about 8 years now and am really
excited about finally getting to a race. Does anyone have any advice they
can offer up? We’re going to be driving down Friday night from Toronto and
staying in Charlotte. What’s a good time to get the track on Sunday? We’re
sitting in Turn 4 and where would be a good place to park that would allow
us a relatively easy time on getting out after the race? What’s there to do
before a race?
I guess that’s about everything I can think of for now. I appreciate any
words of wisdom you guys can offer.
Thanks in advance

I haven’t been to the Charlotte track (our trip there this month had to
), but you can find some info on things to do, including driver
be cancelled due to stupid things like work and 2 weeks of jury duty
appearances, here:

The track’s homepage has a map of parking here:

Don’t plan on getting out of the track soon if you plan on parking there.
You gotta imagine of over 200k of people wanting to leave as well. But it’s
all worth it. Have a ton of fun!!

Then when you come home, write a UCAP: the story of your
weekend, "Up Close And Personal" (nod to ABC and rasn).

Are you staying at local hotel or camping?
I’ve never "PARKED" at Lowes, only camped at one of the fine Earnardt
camping establishments. Visit the souvenir trailers around
1pm….Cookout or eat near the track at one of the many establishments
in trailers around the park…get to the track NLT 5pm…most of your
seatmates will already be well lit…I did the Cokie for 2 years
straight b4 retiring from AF and moving to Michigan..expect a TOTALLY
different race this year with the re-pavement of the track…and for
GOODNESS SAKES, check out the dirt track at Lowes…will probably be
World of Outlaws Sprint cars that weekend, as per usual.
