CRU Poll
I don’t really want to become the Mod Group’s Jalan Jones
by cutting & pasting articles most readers here have seen on Jayski.
So i ask this question of y’all:
Shall The Crusader continue to post links & snippets from Jayski?
(Like the 3 i did today?)

Yes, please.
I look at Jayski’s main page, but I rarely pick up on the stuff
that you do.
I don’t look at any racing sites regularly. I check nascar.com
twice a week to play RPG. Sue’s Racin’ News ‘n’ Views is gone.
So you’re my window on the world. ;o)

I do look at Jayski pretty regularly so what you point to from there
isn’t usually "news" to me.
However, as a certain wise old sage once said, a newsgroup without any
news is no fun.
So, if there’s something over there that may invite discussion here, by
all means post it.

exactly… not only is it good for inviting discussion, but it also
gives the readers a reference point. Anyway, IMO (for what it’s worth)
posting articles (with commentary) is a great way to start a thread.

I RARELY look at Jayski. So if there is something of interest,
I certainly don’t mind seeing it ‘previewed’ and then recommended…
Plus, this is a low activity group, it certainly doesn’t bog
anything down.

I kinda like the snippets with a link. I don’t have time to read Jayski
every day (or even NASCAR.com), and since Sue retired, the NG is my main
source of news. A brief summary with a link is great.

Always good to put wise before old!

I rarely go to Jayski – can’t seem to figure out his site layout scheme and have
given up trying. I’ve been prohibited from using nascar.com for anything,
especially stats, by Cru <g>, so if you see something snip ‘n post away! This
is my window to the nascar world.

Same here. I vote yes!
(Go ahead and count me twice. I believe that in internet
polls, one should vote early and often.)

You shoulda seen it before you started participating.
This was a very, very quiet place for many years.
Thanks to all the new folks who have joined us this
year. Your participation is noted and appreciated.

Cru – you help keep us all current.
Thanx.

I don’t think NASCAR’s gonna put them out of business any
time soon.

Nope. That’s not their job. And I hope we never get a super-committee
to take over the whole world of racin’. Cf. the Olympic Organizing
Committee as a model of what would NOT be good for the sport.
I hope Matt enjoys his sabbatical. Sounds like he’s got some fun
projects lined up.

Hmmm, good idea John. Doubtful he still posts on RacingOne message board.
It would be nice for some of us to pass on an invite over here.
I tried a couple years back, but he just couldn’t get the hang of it,
&/or had a non-user-friendly server.

Sounds good to me.
Where do I vote to ban popularity contests for the Chase?

I want to ban that sort of voting for just about everything. LOL It
annoys me that people can sit there and log in every day under three or
four (or more) email addresses and totally skew the vote. I’m a firm
believer in the one-man-one-vote principal. I bet neither Dale Jr. nor
Bill Elliott would have won half of the "Most Popular Driver" awards if
the voting had been *honest*.

R-i-i-ight. They may "want" to, but a driver voted in:
a) would not refuse the honor, and
b) would cherish the championship (and the $) just at much if he got hot in the
lat 10 and won it.

Agreed.
Our heroes are only human. They behave a lot like us.
If the rules were changed to vote in the world’s greatest
newsgroup Jesuit, I’d very humbly accept the honor
and go join the show. Wouldn’t you? :o)
