BTW, as a DE expert, what’s your favorite race/controversey when DE was
winning all the time? How many times was he accussed of cheating as

Edith. Glad to see you could make it. I think that you will enjoy the people
here with the possible exception of that rowdy Hawaiian:-). Only kidding.
The people that were involved in setting this group up are dedicated to
discussing racing, not cussing it. And remember the the word "facts" is
allowed and welcome here. Of course rumors and such are also welcome. Even
DE fans are welcome<G>. Like Henry said, after all that hard work to
recognize a troll it will not be needed here. Again welcome, and stay
awhile.

Mind if I BUT in ? My favorite DEwas the blue#3 Wrangler and the Red
#11 Bud Chevy at the old Richmond on the backstretch…goin onto turn
3….
and one of my favorite DWs was at the same race on the cool down lap
in the same spot.

I think my favorite DE "controversy" has the be "the not the pass in the
grass" I think Elliott is still mad to this day and they don’t come much
more mellow than Awesome Bill.
My favorite race…..is there any question that would be the 1998
DAYTONA 500! Never have I seen any moment like the trip to victory lane.
Even my brother who is not a very bid DE fan said he had tears in his
eyes and voted for it as one the most memorable moments in NASCAR
history.
Did any of you ever hear the story DE tells of the time he kept trying
to pass The King (I believe it was his rookie season) at Daytona and
caused them both to finish further back from the leader than they should
have. He talks about Richard shaking his "crooked finger" in his face
after and giving him what for. Says he learned a lot about what he
wasn’t going to do again from that incident…one would think he may
have forgotten part of that lesson:-)
