I had the pleasure of racing against Alan Kulwicki in the All Pro Late Model
Series at Mobile International Speedway.
He was a dedicated competitor, who is missed by the racing fraternity.

I did not know he ever ran with the All Pro series. Would you
care to post more details? I’d be interested in hearing your
recollections.

Wow, it seems like yesterday. I don’t even remember whether his team ran a
car that weekend, but as I recall, some of the top executives at Hooters
were also killed in the aircraft crash.
Rest in peace, Alan. We sure miss your independence and your racing style.

Just think about it. Alan would be called a "Field Filler" nowadays. It’s
probably not realistic, but I’d like to see more independent, single-car
teams be successful.
