Mr. Random sez:

18
34
2
40
9

39
16
8
38
5

So we’re talkin’ about:

18      17      Matt Kenseth    Ford
34      175     Mike Garvey     Dodge
2       12      Ryan Newman     Dodge
40      09      Johnny Sauter   Dodge
9       97      Kurt Busch      Ford

And from the far reaches of Moral Victory Mountain,
where the air is pure and the stars are just a
stretch away, we now catch a glimpse of how the
race will be run:

1. #17 MK will finish 39th or below.

2. #175 Mike Garvey, age 42, who dnf’d at Atlanta
in March for his sole race this year, has had
some success in ASA and Hooters and will FINISH
IN THE TOP 16.  <We’re already collecting MV points
on this prediction up in the stratosphere.  Ooooh,
I feel righteous, righteous!>

<Yes, I’m celebrating now.  I don’t think this
is going to feel so good tomorrow.>

3. #12 RN will beat #8 Jr.

4. #09 Johnny Sauter, another ASA star (2001
champ), in his second Cup season, has made
the show for the first time this year.  He
will finish 38th or above.

5. #97 KB will not finish above 5th.

Bonus: Jr. will be sidelined by the flu.
Johnny Benson will take his place and
finish a respectable 10th.

So a group of us from rasn have been havin this party in Richmond a
couple times a year when the boys are in town. Since they are night
races, there is an occasional full moon. Hence the name – FULL MOON
CLUB or FMC for short. Back in the days of mailing a rasn banner was
when we started. I still have one of the final ones. We keep using it
at Richmond & Bristol when we know we’ll be seeing someone.

RPG – Ville – Alex Holden predictions

Martinsville Predictions

1 Dale Jr will beat Mike Waltrip

2 Jeff Gordon will beat Jimmie Johnson

3 Rusty Wallace will beat Ryan Newman

4 The number of cars that finish in the top 10 will be 10 (just kidding)

The number of cars that started in the top 10 and finish out of the
top 10 will be 5 or fewer.

5 The number of cautions will be less than 13 but more than 10

And because I am away for the next two, maybe three weeks, can I make
five more predictions for Martinsville now, then 10 predictions (in lieu
of Texas and Pheonix) for Dega?

6 Kevin Harvick will be the highest placed RCR runner

7 Tony Stewart top 10

8 Kurt Busch will be the highest placed runner for JR

9 No rookie will finish on the lead lap

10 Kasey Kahne bottom 18
Cheers,

Alex Holden
I don’t speak for anybody but myself.

My teammate's debris, how convenient…

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:51 am

Jeff Gordon needs a caution, Joe Nemecheck’s damaged car reenters the
track and drops debris.  How convenient is that?

Headlights question

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:51 am

As I understand it,
the headlights on the NASCAR cars are
probably made of vinyl (kinda like decals).
(Possible, but I kinda doubt, each team
does their own from scratch paint job!?)

Are these available for purchase?
Can some kind soul help aim me towards
sites or suppliers for them?

He dropped three spots   +1

The luck wasn’t with him   -1

JJ JB incident

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:50 am

Looking at the replay, it seems to me that Jeff Burton didn’t move all the
way up to the wall as one would normally expect coming out of the turn.  In
fact, he stopped moving up, around one full groove away from the wall.
Which is where JJ, who was inside JB, surely expected that his car was going
to sit after they exited the corner.

I think JB though he was clear of JJ’s bumper, and wanted to stay one groove
down to prevent JJ from getting inside him on the next corner.  Only, since
he wasn’t, as JJ moved up to the natural spot, it was occupied by JB, and JB
got turned around.

Watch the replays and chime in.

Didn’t hear anything to this effect from anyone involved — though I didn’t
see JJ’s post race interview…

-Russ.
