Texgas RPG – McCoy

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:35 pm

1a – Jimmie Johnson keeps the points lead.

2 – Biffle wins.  He runs this track pretty good, and he’s hot this
year.

3 – Sadler top 5.  He also runs this track good – besides the win
last year, he’s had a couple of strong runs end with accidents.

4 – Mayfield top 5.  The car’s looked strong at times, they need
to get a whole race together tho.

5 – Earnhardt overtakes Harvick in the points.

1b – 1a is an obvious gimme, I just put it there to see if anyone
would point that out without reading down to here.  So the actual
prediction is Johnson finishes outside the T10.

Bonus – Kahne gets his first win with Mayfield in 2nd.

2: Only one of the Dales will finish in the top 10

3: One of the Kenny’s will make the top 20

4: Mikey finishes better than Jr.

5: Mark Martin is fewer points out of first place than when he started the

I’m making a quick trip to S.C. to see Mom and Dad
this weekend, so I have to let Mr. Random pick from
the standings rather than from the lineup.

(Dad is doing better, by the way: he is recovering
from the hip surgery, the broken leg, and the stroke,
and the staph infection is gone.)

So, Mr. Random says we should look at these numbers:

20
7
1
17
11

20
1
30
8
8

20      Dave Blaney #07
7       Rusty Wallace #2
1       Jimmie Johnson #48
17      Jeremy Mayfield #19
11      Carl Edwards #99

1. DB #07 will finish 20th or higher.

2. RW #2 will WIN THE RACE!

3. JJ #48 will finish 30th or below!

4. JM #19 will finish in the
top eight.

5. CE #99 will beat Jr. in the #8.

My heart just throbs with self-righteousness
as I make these predictions.  Look out all
you guys at the bottom of the RPG standings.
Here I come!   :o (

[FAQ] Getting Started Posting on rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:33 pm

The registration process outlined in the charter for new posters wanting to get
started posting to rec.autos.sport.nascar.moderated has been eliminated.

Now, instead of having to register an agreement to abide by the charter, new
posters simply have to post an article like they would to any other USENET
newsgroup.  The first post from any given e-mail address kicks out to one of the
moderators for review.

If the post is on-charter, the e-mail address from which it was posted is added
to the robomoderator’s preapproved list.  Future posts from that address will be
reviewed by a human moderator only if it contains a word on the "bad words
list".  Otherwise, the robomoderator will automatically post it to the
newsgroup.

Posters who wish to post from more than one e-mail address can either submit an
article from each address, or request that the additional addresses be added to
the preapproved list.

You may post from a spam-proofed address, but understand that if you do, it may
be difficult or impossible for the robomoderator and/or the human moderation
team to communicate with you.

New posters are still encouraged to read the charter which is available at
http://rasnm.carracing.com.

Please note the following if you are unfamiliar with how moderated groups work
in general.

When a post is made to a moderated group, it is sent to the group’s moderation
address.  It is not posted immediately to your news server as is the case with
unmoderated groups.  Therefore, it can take up to 12-24 hours for your post to
appear in the group.

Unfortunately, things can happen along the way and posts do occasionally fail to
reach the moderation address.  If your post doesn’t show up after 24 hours,
please contact the moderation team.

Per the charter, questions and comments about moderation decisions or procedures
are off-topic for the group and should be directed to the moderators privately.
A separate public e-mail list exists for the open discussion of these issues
should the need for such a discussion arise.

Occasionally, a poster on preapprove will post something that wouldn’t make it
past a human review.  If you see something in the group that you think is
inappropriate, please do not respond in the newsgroup.  Contact the moderators
directly.

The moderation team can be reached at rasnm-m…@carracing.com.

The moderators and charter committee would like to thank carracing.com

Poles, In The Chase

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:19 pm

As i speculated before the ’05 season began, there will be a record
number of different pole-sitters in ’05 because of the new Cup
Impound Procedure. So far there have been 5 diff pole-sitters in
6 races. The record is 18 diff in ’01 & ’97. Congrats to Scott Riggs.

There is no evidence yet as to who will be in The Chase, but i will
let y’all know who at least 9 of 10 will be after 7.Texas.

My best speculation right now is:
JJ, Bif, TS, ESad, Ku, RN, JG, DEJ, & McM.
There MAY be 12 drivers in The ’05 Chase & 3 of these 6 could be in:
DJ, RW, MM, KH, Carl & Riggs.
Out of The ’05 Chase will be: Kenseth, BLabonte, Mayfield, JBurton, KK.

CRU-whose opinion may vary from yore’s.

I swear i have never heard this expression before even tho i am the
same age as Mike Joy. MJ comes up with more old-timey expressions
than Doc G, maybe even more than DW!

Anyway, it was a fitting description of reparations of body damage.
It may also fit Speed / Fox’s Qualifying shows.
I just don’t understand why they won’t post speeds to 3 digits
past the decimal, like the official posted speeds.
I also wonder why their graphics go off the bottom of a 46 inch TV.

While i’m at it–Why can’t they show during Cup races, the interval
drivers are behind the race leader, at least every other crawler?

One more–Will someone ‘splain to MJ that AOL is not the way to
communicate with a Usenet group like RASNMod? I miss his contributions.

Janet Jackson screwed up my race routine

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:18 pm

I used to listen to the AM radio broadcast when I went to the races to keep
up with the action on the track.  Dawgoneit, now they’ve done gone and put a
delay in the broadcast.  It sures screws up my race routine because now the
broadcast is out of sync with the real race.  Dawgoneit, why couldn’t she
have just left her clothes on?!?
