I’m on pins and needles.
I don’t remember a time when the top three were bunched this
close.
I don’t know whether to be happy for DJ or sad for RR. I’d love
to see either one of them win the Cup. DJ had his turn. I was
rooting for Ricky until after Dale passed him; then I was
thrilled that he was able to hold off JG, who doesn’t have to
win this year to stay on track for seven or eight career cups.
I think he’s around 30 now. If he drives another 20 years,
he’s got time to win nine Cups. :o(

Although I live about one hour away from NHIS, I can not imaging spending
big bucks to watch single file racing, year after year. They ought to tear
up the track and start over. Make it a 3/4 miler with high banking.
One on track lead change is a real snoozer, although not as bad as the last
race their with no lead changes.

Russ D. and I have been talking about getting together for
Happy Hour or for a chat an hour before race time.
Anyone else going to be there?
Got any ideas/times?
Anybody know the schedule of events?

Many people have complained that the race was boring. I didn’t watch every
lap (oops just wrecked my point here maybe) but the racing I saw as very
interesting in many places. Even though there weren’t many passes for the
lead, a lot of guys came from the back and there was a lot of passing
through the field. And on a single groove racetrack the passes can be hard
to execute if the guy won’t give up the groove, so it made for some fender
rubbing…
All in all I thought it was pretty good racing even if it didn’t show up on
the books that way.
Actually, I think it was worth watching the entire telecast just to see Ron
Hornaday trying out a new "high groove".

Reminder about Sunday – Red Sox.

and maybe see some batting practice.
We can pick you up around 10:45 if that works for you.

FOX vs. NBC:
The difference in the coverage is… like it or not…
FOX/FX Guys had a chemistry and each week their
enthusiasm (sometimes got the better of them) made
you feel and put you in the frame of mind, this might
be the best race ever… after DE’s death, that was
a great accomplishment… ‘since everyone had the
wind taken out of their sails for the new season.
NBC/TNT/CNNSI Guys don’t have that chemistry.
They seem to try to hard at times and it shows. I can
understand if they are trying a harder, news reporting
approach but I don’t think that’s the case. This is a
sports event you can remain fair and still show emotion.
The best thing I witnessed this year was the pre-qualifying
interview with Michael Waltrip on the war-wagon last
week at Loudon. These races should be enjoyable not a
chore to watch and stay awake for. I noticed on the boards
the increase in posts about races being boring… since NBC
took over… I have to agree.
Just my buck and a quarter…
See you at POCONO…
Go #2, 18 & 10!

Was that on the main track or the little 1/4 mile on the front stretch?

Now that they are hiring it’s third driver for the year. What would you
think if all three drivers were’t able to qualify into the starting
field after 7 consecutive tries. Could it be possibly the cars and not
the drivers? I hope kenny is laughing now.
