RPG – Richmond – Russ

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:33 am

1.  Jeff Burton involved in an "incident" and finishes 30th or worse despite
practicing 4th.  Announcers express sadness/regret for him as he was having
a good run.

2.  Tony Stewart leads but settles for a top 5

3.  The 400 point mark moves up exactly one spot, claiming Jeremy Mayfield
but not claiming Rusty Wallace. Nobody that is below the line gets back
above it.

4.  JJ has multiple contacts but still top 10 in a battle-scarred car

5.  Rusty Wallace has a better day than Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Bonus:  The Top 4 finishers in order are:  Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Carl
Edwards, Jimmy Johnson and at least two of those are side by side across the
line.

Since I’m just a ‘Field Filler’ (but NOT a Whacker!) during this First Segment, I
thought I’d try sumpin’!

Decided to try being the "Mr. Reverse Random" using Marty’s Fearless Forecast!

I suspect some of these will fall dangerously close to the edge of the Gimme
Gulch…but it’s all just for giggles, anyhoo!

;->

<edits are enclosed in pair of asterisks>

1. GB #16 will finish 31st or *higher*.

2. CE #99 finish *ahead of* JGreen in the #43 Cheerios Dodge.

3. ES #38 will *not* finish 7th or higher.

4. JS #09 will *not* finish between 30th to 38th.

5. TR #192 will finish *behind* the #12 car.

Bonus: there will *not* be zero Fords in the top 10.

1. Dale Jr beats Mikey Waltrip

2. Jeff Gordon beats Jimmie Johnson

3. Kasey Kahne is in the highest finishing Dodge

4. Only one or two of the "official" rookies stay on the lead lap or one
lap down

5. DEI have a relatively good day with both in the top 20. Compound this
with Both cars finish on the lead lap.

Cheers,

Alex Holden

Or should that be Busch-isms?
Yogi-isms & Stengel-ese.

>From Ndotcom:

"Any time you go in the NASCAR hauler, you don’t want to
go in there," Busch said. "It’s a scenario where you
listen quite often and speak in very short words.

"You get your point across quickly because the mother
hand is on top and by no means did we escape anything."

"This place is really cool to qualify if you’re right
and we were just right on the pins and needles of just
hitting a turn here or a turn there and slipping a tire,
but we stuck it pretty good.

mother hand?  pins and needles?  HUH? Cue the Aflac Duck, eh?

Since the Full Moon Club is meeting at Richmond I solicited picks from the
attendees to use with my picks this week.  Most of them involved drinking,
wagering and getting lost.  The good Dr. Gelakwitz submitted some actually
*presentable* picks.  So without further ado:

1(ww). Elliott Sadler gets a top 3
>From Dr G:

2. Ricky Rudd – top 5 finish

3. Jimmy Johnson – in the wall – (ww: finishes off the lead lap)

4. Mikey Waltrip – spins down the back into the wall – at least
once.

5. Jamie MackMary fades from front (T10) runner to out of top 10 late in the
event (in T10 on lap 300, finishes outside T10)

6. GWC finish

Bonus (ww):

88, 2, 21 and 38 are all in the T10.  (If T10 isn’t bonus worthy, make it T5.)

RPG Richmond: Draft

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:30 am

1. Adding the car numbers of the top ten finishers will be less than 250
2. Martin will finish in the top 15
3. Rusty Wallace will finish between 11th or 20th
4. The number of Cup Contenters will increase by at least 1
5. Jr will finish in the top 10

Fixing races?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:30 am

Tell me I’m just a cynic, not an ass. But Johnson, big points leader,
almost always top 10, NASCAR blooming and wants tight race and
ratings, and he wrecks. Finish 40 or so and race tightens.

I guess just a bad break.

(Hopefully) Humor: Top 10 signs you're at a NASCAR fan's funeral

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:38 pm

I don’t remember where I got this:

Top 10 signs you’re at a NASCAR fan’s funeral:

10: Casket features an exact replica of Mikey’s paint scheme.  Cutaway
version is available to see special features of the casket

9: Deceased is referred to as being "out of the race for the chase"

8: Heart-stirring eulogies delivered by Mike Joy and Jeff Hammond

7: "Amazing Grace" performed by nine-year-old girl from Bristol, TN.

6: Only the first 43 cars allowed in procession to burial site.

5: Hearse referred to as "pace car"

4:  Cars in procession weave back and forth to clean off tires

3:  Cars caught speeding leaving chapel must go the back of
procession.

2:  First-time mourners have yellow stripe on the back of the their
cars.

1: No coolers over 14 inches allowed in the chapel.

  take care,
  Scott
when his time comes, may pay someone to yell "Boogity, boogity,
boogity"

RPG — Darlington — MXM -5

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:37 pm

I debated not grading myself so that I would just get a -5 for
being tardy, but I decided that would not be behavior
consistent with being the Steward of Moral Victory Mountain.
I take my punishment in noble silence and with no regrets.
"Here I stand; I can no other."

1. Jeff Fuller, #34, who has a grand total of 4 Cup starts
(one in 1992 and 3 in 2004), will beat 7 or more cars–i.e.,
36th or better).

-1.  Jeff finished dead last.  Oh, well.

2. BH, Jr. #32 will finish in the top 17.

-1. 30th.

3. JJ #48 will not finish above 13th.

-1.  I was so happy when he went a lap down!
That’ll teach me to count my RPG points
        before the burnout!

4. RR #21 will finish ahead of Tony Stewart in the #20.

-1. 13th against 10th.

5. Mike Wallace will finish ahead of KH #29.

-1. 24th against 14th.

Hmm.  My third -5.  Mr. Random is due for an
uptick.  :o)

Going to my first race, need advice

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 2:37 pm

Hello all,

I’m going to be attending the Coca-Cola 600 and it’s going to be my first
race in person.  Been a fan of the sport for about 8 years now and am really
excited about finally getting to a race.  Does anyone have any advice they
can offer up?  We’re going to be driving down Friday night from Toronto and
staying in Charlotte.  What’s a good time to get the track on Sunday?  We’re
sitting in Turn 4 and where would be a good place to park that would allow
us a relatively easy time on getting out after the race?  What’s there to do
before a race?

I guess that’s about everything I can think of for now.  I appreciate any
words of wisdom you guys can offer.

Thanks in advance
